The bidding in the mandis often started at shockingly low rates—sometimes as little as ₹4–₹6 per kg, regardless of the quality or method of cultivation. Chemical-free, naturally grown vegetables fetched the same price as chemically laden produce. This pricing injustice, coupled with high input costs, had discouraged many, with the younger generation wanting to leave farming altogether. By joining hands with Natural or Nothing, the average crop yields have increased by 35%, and farmer incomes have seen a rise of over 60% within just one year. Prior to our involvement, many of these farmers earned less than ₹5,000 per month from their land.
